| Keyboards: Do you have a preference? | | I'm a writer, so I guess that makes a big deal for me..But I never knew how much I was actually missing out in terms of great keyboard experience until I used the Macbook. Thanks to the Macbook, I realized that there's a better way to type.:D The flat keys are perfect for the writer's hands. After that experience, I was never the same again. I would always look for keyboards that are wider than the usual configuration.On desktops, I prefer the Logitech keyboards. Their keys are wider than the usual keyboards, plus, their classic line is cheap, too.:DI'm also happy that Acer laptops now adopted the Apple standard of flat keys. Now, if you need a Windows rig, and don't care for a Mac anyway, you can just buy an Acer and it'll have nearly the same kind of amazing keyboard experience.How about you? | | Too Much Coffee | | See the attatched photo?[em]whistle[/em]
Okay maybe you're in your email, but anyhow I spilled a mug of coffee on my keyboard yesterday.[em]duncecap[/em] I cleaned it with compressed air then some rubbing alcohol. Well it seems my keyboard had way TOO much coffee.[em]rofl[/em]The photo is of my new keyboard I bought this morning. The old one worked to a point. I could do anything except hit the space bar. So I needed a new one. I played games and could type in wordpad etc but not myLot, FB, mySpace etc. Anyhow I am back to typing again. When was the last time you bought a new keyboard? By the way, this cost $12.82 at Wally World.

| Why Aren't Keyboards Built To Last? | | I have a desktop computer that has served me well for many years. However, I am already on my second keyboard! The original keyboard was a Sony so you would expect it to last forever...well, it didn't and the lettering on the keyboard starting splodging with over-use.Well, the same is happening with the cordless Advent keyboard I am now typing on.Now, the screen has been brilliant (and the speakers replaced very recently) so why on earth are keyboards built...er, NOT to last?Is it because they are made in China or what?[em]whistle[/em]I remember this keyboard being on offer when it was bought around 3-4 years ago. It is now at full price. Thank goodness I got it then and not now lol.It has responsive keys though, I suppose, it's just I don't like the splodges, they make it look cheap, you know what I mean?Does anyone else have this problem and does it apply to laptops as well? I'd love to know what the keyboards are like on those just so I can compare the two![em]happy[/em] | |

| | How fast do you type messages on your computer? | | I can type a message without looking at my cellphone. I can really type it fast with just one hand. Many people that I know are really good in typing messages in their computer without even looking at it like the students that I know. They are looking at their teacher as if they are listening but in their pockets, they are texting. It's amazing how these people can do multi tasking that looks like without any effort. | Help Me With My Right Claw! | | After years and years of clutching a mouse, I am now finding my hand cramping up like a claw. My thumb is sprung, and I have shooting pains in my wrist and fingers.I'm sure I could do some searching but I have to post a discussion of some sort eventually heh heh. What I want to know is if I can get a keyboard with a different kind of pointing device or a different pointing device to use with my laptop without having to get a whole new computer.Also: does anyone know if Osteo-Biflex (glucosamine and chondroitan) helps this kind of thing?

| | How do you type? | | Have you mastered your computers keyboard yet? I sure know I have, after typing out so many responses I can type on my keyboard with my eyes closes. I was wondering how many of the people on MyLot are the ones who "Search & Pluck" or should I say the one that don't have there keyboards yet memorized and have to go around looking for each individual key. My guess is that most of us have mastered the keyboard. But don't be afraid if you haven't. It took me a while to memorize every single key on my QWERTY keyboard!:) | |
| | Touch Typists | | Is it a must for computer users, internet explores and surfers to be a touch typist?
I once found a software through a search engine site which you can download. I'm not sure how much it really works. I, myself is not actually a fast typists and neither a touch typist.
But according to the software that I found out, after two weeks of study and training, you can be able to type without looking at the keyboard.
I forgot the software's name. But I'm just wondering if it can really be a big help to us, users.
What can a touch typist do and what is the benefit of being one?

| computer/laptop keyboards loudness | | Has anyone else noticed some keyboards can be really loud when typing or quiete as a mouse. Ive noticed my notebook keyboard is really quiete and barlly makes a noise but when ever my wifes types on our other laptop it sounds like shes using a old fashioned type writer surlly they cant be sound proofing under the keyboard. Maybe shes just heavy handed but it can get really annoying when your trying to concentrate and you here this roar of noise going on next to me | |
